Dinosaur tracks to be protected

dinosaursJust a quick post, but after seeing the photo attached with this story I couldn’t resist. According to the BBC, dinosaur tracks made up to 165 million years ago in the Oxfordshire mudflats are to be protected as part of a geological conservation site. Up to 40 sets of tracks at Ardley Trackways, near Bicester, include those belonging to large dinosaurs related to Brachiosaurus and Tyrannosaurus.

Natural England confirmed it wanted to make the area a site of special scientific interest (SSSI). “Such extensive and relatively complete dinosaur trackways are otherwise unknown in England and are rare internationally,” a Natural England spokesman said.

Seriously – how cool are these?!
